Imagine your favorite meal. Now imagine being unable to eat it. Dysphagia, which refers to swallowing difficulties, can make enjoying meals impossible. This condition can arise from various causes, including a stroke, head and neck cancer, injuries, or other neurological illnesses. Before starting dysphagia therapy, an instrumental assessment of swallowing, such as a modified barium swallow study (MBSS) or fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES), is typically conducted to identify the most suitable treatment interventions.
In addition to traditional swallowing therapy, we are trained in myofascial release therapy, Vital Stim therapy, and surface electromyography (sEMG) to enhance swallow function. Click our number above if you or someone you know would benefit from these services!
